Professional Development and Youth Department (PDY)

The Professional Development and Youth Committee provides opportunities for ACCP members to enhance their professional skills and network through educational, networking and social events and support to other ACCP committees in youth membership recruitment and involvement in ACCP.

Responsibilities:

In order to carry out its mandate, the Professional Development and Youth Department will:

1. Plan and organize an annual professional development seminar for all ACCP members and potential members
2. Plan and organize appropriate networking and social events for ACCP members which include a professional development component to them (eg. dinners/luncheons/breakfasts featuring speakers on tax planning, client development, customer service, public speaking skills, etc.)
3. Plan and organize an annual career fair or career forum for secondary and university or college students
4. Support capacity building and enhancement of leadership skills amongst ACCP members
5. Support other ACCP committees in their efforts to recruit and retain youth members
6. Solicit articles for ACCP newsletter on professional development issues and issues of interest to youth members

The Professional Development and Youth Department welcomes new members as well as volunteers who are interested in assisting with any of its projects.
