Paul Cheng, EIT, was born in Hong Kong and came to Canada in 1990. Paul obtained his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Victoria in 1997 and is now an engineer with BC Hydro practicing safety engineering and project management. Paul is also an active volunteer with S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

James C. Hsieh , CA, MBA, is a Chartered accountant since 1979 and he was in public practice with CA firms for more than ten years. Currently, he is a Senior lecturer teaching accounting and a program co-ordinator for the Business Co-operative education program at Simon Fraser University ( SFU). He obtained his Bachelor degree in Marketing, Insurance & transportation and MBA (1974) in Accounting & Quantitative Methods from University of Oregon. He was a journalist prior to his business and teaching career, graduating from the World college of Journalism in Taiwan and worked as a reporter for an international news agency for more than three years. Currently, he is a director for the Junior Achievement ( JA ) of BC, a director for Entrepreneurial Learning Foundation, and a director for Touch Stone Family Association. He is an member of a Rotary club, speaker for the Public Legal Education Society (The People's Law School ), and a member of Mandarin Service Consultation Committee for SUCCESS. He was the president of Rotary Club of Vancouver Chinatown ( 86/87 ), chairman of Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship Selection Committee, Rotary District #5040, Rotary International ( 95-96 ), president of Richmond Chinese Community Society ( 96-97 ), vice-chair for the annual Partners in Community Conferences for the City of Richmond (94-96).

Yita Lee, B.Eng., M.Eng., is a Ph.D. candidate at the Biotechnology Laboratory and Department of Chemical and Bio-Resource Engineering at UBC. He is currently conducting research in the optimization of hollow fibre bioreactors for the production of recombinant proteins. He was born in Taiwan and has lived in USA and Canada. He received his B.Eng. with a minor in biotechnology and M.Eng. from McGill University.

Vincent Poon, B.Comm., CMA, is a principal with Poon & Associates (Management Accountants). He graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in Commerce. He was the President of the Certified Management Accountants Society of B.C. (1997-98). Also very active in community work, Mr. Poon is the Treasurer of the Richmond Foundation (1998-2000), as well as a Board Director (1996-99) of the Richmond Chinese Community Society.

Chong-Ze Teh, BSc, MSc. Ph.D., is a medical researcher at the BC Cancer Agency. Originally from Malaysia, Dr. Teh graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1973 with a double-major in Microbiology and Biochemistry. He subsequently completed a post-graduate diploma in Bacteriology from the School of Hygiene, University of Toronto in 1976, and then his Master degree in Virology from the University of Reading in England. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1980 from the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Medical School, the University of Sheffield. Dr. Teh joined the BC Cancer Agency in 1985. Dr. Teh has completed several joint studies with researchers from Stanford University, and with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle researching on colon cancer in Chinese, cervical cancer intervention studies in Chinese women, causes of prostate cancer, and others. Dr. Teh is also active in community work, and has been associated with many non-profit organizations including S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Chinese Cultural Center, Richmond Chinese Community Society, Richmond Chinese School, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC.

Bonnie Teng, BA, LLB, is a lawyer practicing in immigration, real estate, and corporate/commercial law, and is with the law firm of Loh and Company. She has a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor. She is an active member of the Immigration Section of the Canadian Bar Association and is a frequent speaker at various seminars and commentator on radio programs. She is fluent in English, French, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Caroline Y. Wang, B.Sc., M.D., is a practicing Family Physician in Richmond and is on Active Staff at Richmond Hospital. She is the Founding President of ACCP, and is also currently the President of the Vancouver Medical Association, and a Board member of the British Columbia Medical Association. She is the President-Elect of the Federation of Chinese American and Chinese Canadian Medical Societies, and is a Past-President of the Chinese Canadian Medical Society (BC). Her areas of interest include promoting excellence in health care and patient education for the Chinese community, for which she has been a frequent speaker on the radio, and served as Chairman of several Health Fairs for the Chinese community.

Xin-yong Wang, M.D., graduated from medical school (McGill) in 1996; completed Family Medicine residency in 1999, with extra training in obstetrics/gynecology. He is currently practicing in Richmond. He is the co-president of the Professional Association of Resident Physicians of British Columbia. He sits on the Faculty Executive Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of UBC, the Board of Directors of the Canadian Medical Protective Association and the Board of Examiners of College of Canadian Family Physicians.

Dr. Collin K.K. Yong, BSc. MB. CHB. FRCP(C), completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Leicester in England. He then trained as a General Practitioner and lived in the United Kingdom for 10 years in 1992, he returned to Canada and decided to pursue training in Pediatrics at British Columbia's Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Following his certification from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, he continued on for sub-specialty training in Biochemical Diseases and Cystic Fibrosis. Dr. Yong is now in private practice in Pediatrics and also a staff member at BCs Children's Hospital. Dr. Yong will be travelling to Beijing in the early spring as part of the medical exchange study under the Rotary International and Charles Loh Foundation.

Jean Yu, LLB,is a lawyer practicing with the law firm of Kerfoot, Cameron, & Company in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. Born in Taiwan, she studied Finance with a minor in Economics in the Faculty of Commerce, University of British Columbia ("U.B.C."). She obtained her law degree from U.B.C. in 1984. Mrs. Yu has lectured on legal topics in Mandarin for the People's Law School, the Vancouver School Board and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. She has spoken and written about Taiwan for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and the Vancouver Board of Trade. She is also a member of Gifted Children Association of British Columbia, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden Society of Vancouver, Vancouver Mandarin Lions Club, Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Association, Canadian Bar Association and The Law Society of British Columbia.

Bennie Yung, CGA, presently has his own developing company "Savoy Management Ltd. and Tung Fung Enterprises Inc." in Richmond. Mr. Yung earned his CGA in Canada and had worked as an accountant prior to his "retirement". He is also President of Richmond Chinese Community Society (R.C.C.S.), President of "Civic Education Society" (1994- 1996), "Chinese Advisory Board" with I.C.B.C. (1995-1998), and co-chair on the B.C. Chinese Canadian Committee on National Unity. He was also the founding President of "International Development Assistance Society of Canada" (I.D.A.S.) from 1995 to present. In the past, Mr. Yung has also taught accounting adult evening courses in Mandarin for the Vancouver School Board in 1992-94. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Mr. Yung is often seen on Asian programs in both T.V. and Radio talk shows issues concerning the community at large.

Tung Chan, FICB, is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He joined The TD Bank Financial Group in 1978 where he is now District Vice-president in charge of 17 branches in Richmond, Ladner, Tsawwassen and Vancouver South. From 1990 to 1993, Tung served for one term as a Councillor of the City of Vancouver. In that capacity, Tung acted as Deputy Mayor of Vancouver in numerous occasions throughout his term in office. Tung has served on the Boards of numerous community organizations since his immigrating to Canada from Hong Kong in 1974. A partial list of the organizations he has served include International House UBC, Central Okanagan United Way, Chinese Students?Association UBC and SUCCESS. He also helped found the Richmond Bogside Boyscout Group, The Kelowna Chinese Cultural Association, The Pender Guy Radio Program and The Centennial Toastmaster Club. Presently he is, among other community involvements, a member of the Development Advisory Committee of the Vancouver Foundation, director of E-Comm Emergency Communications for South West BC Incorporated and a member of the BC Equal Opportunity Community Advisory Board. Tung is also the Chair of and the Advisory Committee of Fairchild Television and the Vice-Chair of the Vancouver International Financial Centre Society.

Edmond Wong, Ph.D., was born in Vancouver, B.C. He obtained his B.Sc. in biochemistry from McGill University, and received his doctorate in the field of molecular genetics from U.B.C. Dr. Wong is a scientist and director of a biotechnology company specializing in DNA testing and biomedical research with a special interest in cancer gene therapy.

Susan K. Chow, D.M.D., runs her own private dental practice in Vancouver. A graduate of UBC, Dr. Chow has been past president of the Vancouver Chinese Canadian Dental Society of BC, Association of Women Dentists of BC, Vancouver & District Dental Society and Vancouver Children's Circus Society. She has served on the BC task force dental insurance issue and also the dental Professional Advisory Program. Dr. Chow has helped in organizing of the False Creek Racing Canoe Club and also worked as Campaigner for the Honorable Sophia Leung, MP. Dr. Chow is a board member of Medical Services Association, Pacific Blue and Prime Minister Dinner Organizing Committee.

Diane Sung, FICB, PFP, is Personal Financial Planner at the Royal Bank. She has experience in the Financial Services Industry for over 22 years, received her Financial Planning Designation in 1997, and obtained her Fellowship with the Institute of Canadian Bankers. She has been actively involved with numerous fundraising activities over the year, most recently with the Salvation Army's Circle of Caring Capital Campaign. Ms Sung firmly believes that every individual can make a difference.

Anthony P. Cheung, M.B. B.S., M.P.H., F.R.A.C.O.G., F.R.C.S.C., is a gynaecologist / reproductive endocrinologist and the director of the IVF Program of the University of British Columbia. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the University of British Columbia and a fellow of both the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He obtained his medical degrees and Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Sydney, Australia. After his obstetrics and gynaecology residency, he did his first fellowship in Menopause in the Centre for the Management of Menopause in Sydney, Australia and his second fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the University of California, Davis. He was a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Alberta before he joined the University of British Columbia. Dr. Cheung's clinical practice encompasses all aspects in his subspecialty field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, including menopause. His areas of research interest include polycystic ovary syndrome and ovarian physiology related to assisted reproductive technologies; menopause; and, critical appraisal of sperm parameters in predicting pregnancy success and other health care evaluation in his subspecialty. On a personal note, he is interested in principle-centred leadership, personal growth and development, and creating harmony and balance in life.

Solomon Wong, B.A., M.Sc.Pl, is in strategic planning at InterVISTAS Consulting. Working with airports and the transportation industry, he specializes in process re-engineering and strategies to improve customer satisfaction and the passenger experience. An urban planner by training from the University of Toronto, he is also active in the community fundraising and development. Most recently, he is leading capital planning for the Strathcona Community Centre Association and assisting in the marketing of YVR CAN-AM Golf for Kids in support of Canuck Place.
