Paul Cheng, EIT, was born in Hong Kong and came to Canada in 1990. Paul obtained his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Victoria in 1997 and is now an engineer with BC Hydro practicing safety engineering and project management.

James C. Hsieh , CA, MBA, is a Chartered Accountant since 1979 and he was in public practice with CA firms for more than ten years. Currently, he is a Senior lecturer teaching accounting and a program co-ordinator for the Business Co-operative education program at Simon Fraser University ( SFU). He obtained his Bachelor degree in Marketing, Insurance & transportation and MBA (1974) in Accounting & Quantitative Methods from University of Oregon. He was a journalist prior to his business and teaching career, graduating from the World college of Journalism in Taiwan and worked as a reporter for an international news agency for more than three years. Currently, he is a director for the Junior Achievement ( JA ) of BC, a director for Entrepreneurial Learning Foundation, and a director for Touch Stone Family Association. He is an member of a Rotary club, speaker for the Public Legal Education Society (The People's Law School ), and a member of Mandarin Service Consultation Committee for SUCCESS. He was the president of Rotary Club of Vancouver Chinatown ( 86/87 ), chairman of Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship Selection Committee, Rotary District #5040, Rotary International ( 95-96 ), president of Richmond Chinese Community Society ( 96-97 ), vice-chair for the annual Partners in Community Conferences for the City of Richmond (94-96).

Yita Lee, B.Eng., M.Eng., is a Ph.D. candidate at the Biotechnology Laboratory and Department of Chemical and Bio-Resource Engineering at UBC. He is currently conducting research in the optimization of hollow fibre bioreactors for the production of recombinant proteins. He was born in Taiwan and has lived in USA and Canada. He received his B.Eng. with a minor in biotechnology and M.Eng. from McGill University.

Vincent Poon, B.Comm., CMA, is a principal with Poon & Associates (Management Accountants). He graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in Commerce. He was the President of the Certified Management Accountants Society of B.C. (1997-98). Also very active in community work, Mr. Poon is the Treasurer of the Richmond Foundation (1998-2000), as well as a Board Director (1996-99) of the Richmond Chinese Community Society.

Bonnie Teng, BA, LLB, is a lawyer practicing in immigration, real estate, and corporate/commercial law, and is with the law firm of Loh and Company. She has a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and obtained her law degree from the University of Windsor. She is an active member of the Immigration Section of the Canadian Bar Association and is a frequent speaker at various seminars and commentator on radio programs. She is fluent in English, French, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Caroline Y. Wang, B.Sc., M.D., is a practicing Family Physician in Richmond and is on Active Staff at Richmond Hospital. She is the Founding President of ACCP, and is also currently the President of the Vancouver Medical Association, and a Board member of the British Columbia Medical Association. She is the President-Elect of the Federation of Chinese American and Chinese Canadian Medical Societies, and is a Past-President of the Chinese Canadian Medical Society (BC). Her areas of interest include promoting excellence in health care and patient education for the Chinese community, for which she has been a frequent speaker on the radio, and served as Chairman of several Health Fairs for the Chinese community.

Bennie Yung, CGA, presently has his own developing company "Savoy Management Ltd. and Tung Fung Enterprises Inc." in Richmond. Mr. Yung earned his CGA in Canada and had worked as an accountant prior to his "retirement". He is also President of Richmond Chinese Community Society (R.C.C.S.), President of "Civic Education Society" (1994- 1996), "Chinese Advisory Board" with I.C.B.C. (1995-1998), and co-chair on the B.C. Chinese Canadian Committee on National Unity. He was also the founding President of "International Development Assistance Society of Canada" (I.D.A.S.) from 1995 to present. In the past, Mr. Yung has also taught accounting adult evening courses in Mandarin for the Vancouver School Board in 1992-94. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Mr. Yung is often seen on Asian programs in both T.V. and Radio talk shows issues concerning the community at large.

Edmond Wong, Ph.D., was born in Vancouver, B.C. He obtained his B.Sc. in biochemistry from McGill University, and received his doctorate in the field of molecular genetics from U.B.C. Dr. Wong is a scientist and director of a biotechnology company specializing in DNA testing and biomedical research with a special interest in cancer gene therapy.

Diane Sung, FICB, PFP, is Personal Financial Planner at the Royal Bank. She has experience in the Financial Services Industry for over 22 years, received her Financial Planning Designation in 1997, and obtained her Fellowship with the Institute of Canadian Bankers. She has been actively involved with numerous fundraising activities over the year, most recently with the Salvation Army's Circle of Caring Capital Campaign. Ms Sung firmly believes that every individual can make a difference.

Solomon Wong, B.A., M.Sc.Pl, is in strategic planning at InterVISTAS Consulting. Working with airports and the transportation industry, he specializes in process re-engineering and strategies to improve customer satisfaction and the passenger experience. An urban planner by training from the University of Toronto, he is also active in the community fundraising and development. Most recently, he is leading capital planning for the Strathcona Community Centre Association and assisting in the marketing of YVR CAN-AM Golf for Kids in support of Canuck Place.

Anna K. Fung, Q.C. is a Senior Counsel at BC Gas Inc.. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1986 after serving as a law clerk in the B.C. Court of Appeal. Prior to joining BC Gas in 1993, she practised corporate/commercial law, aboriginal rights litigation and administrative law at Davis & Company (1986 to 1989) and McCarthy Tetrault in Vancouver (1989 to 1993). She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and French (1981) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of British Columbia (1984). She is a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Vice-Chair of its Discipline Committee. She also served on the Credentials Committee from 1998 to 1999, and mostly recently as chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee. She is a Director of a number of professional and non-profit organizations including the People's Law School, Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C., Battery Opera, the Association of Chinese Canadian Professionals and the UBC Law Alumni Association. She is a Past President of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, past President of the B.C. Autism Association and a former national Director of the Canadian Bar Association, the Legal Education and Action Fund ("LEAF") and West Coast LEAF. She is a member of The Foundation for Legal Research. Anna was appointed Queen's Counsel in April, 2000. In her spare time, Anna indulges her passion for golfing and skiing and is trying to become a snowboarder. Anna is fluently bilingual in English and French and speaks Cantonese and a smattering of Mandarin, Spanish and Italian.

Tim Lee, BSc, MSc, PhD, is a scientist at the BC Cancer Agency. He also holds an adjunct professor position and a clinical assistant professor position at Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia, respectively. His research interest is to apply computer technology, especially medical image analysis technique, to cancer research.

Ronald Woo, MBA, AIB, CGA, CFP, CLU, CH.F.C., has over 30 years experience in the Banking, Insurance, Investments and Financial industries. He has received several National Quality Awards from the insurance industry for providing outstanding quality client services and is a qualified member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Active and well respected in the professional community, he is the past-President of the B.C. Chapter of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants (now called Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors ,CAIFA) and a Quarter Century Club member of the Certified General Accountants of British Columbia. He is also a member of the International Society of Retirement Planning and the Canadian Association of Retirement Planners. He lectures regularly to corporate and professional clients on the topics of Financial and Retirement Planning

Frances Wong, MD, FRCP(C), is a practicing radiation oncologist. She is also a clinical associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine of University of British Columbia. Through the years, she has been active in many community groups, including Chinese Benevolent Association and Canadian Cancer Society. Her main interest is in the promotion of health education and improvement of health care for the public.

BSc, MBA, CA, CISA, has been actively involved with nonprofit organizations for 20 years. He has served as a Volunteer, Executive Member and/or Director of the Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals, Institute of Chartered Accountants' of British Columbia, Institute of Chartered Accountants' of Ontario, Chartered Accountant Students' Association of Ontario, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Children's Aid Society, Junior Achievement, Mississauga Hospital and numerous student societies at the University of Toronto. Professionally, Peter is a Senior Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Global Risk Management Solutions practice in Vancouver. He specializes in business process and information technology (IT) risk management, particularly in large integrated environments. Peter consults on and conducts business process improvement and controls reviews, project management assessments, IT security and controls engagements, and IT strategy projects. He has also taught courses in accounting and information systems to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. Peter is a member of both the BC and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the Canadian Information Processing Society.

Christopher Chung, D.M.D., has been calling Vancouver home since he immigrated to Canada in 1985. After obtaining his professional degree from the University of British Columbia in 1995, he has been practicing general dentistry in Coquitlam. He has also been a part-time clinical instructor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia since 1997. As a true believer of volunteerism, he has been involved with the Association of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (Children's Fundraising Task Force) and the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of British Columbia (Vice-president, Communications Committee Chair and Webmaster). In the little free time that he has, this dynamo enjoys classical and jazz music, digital photography, tennis, mountain biking, snowboarding, and generally sharing knowledge and fellowship. Ray Chu, P. Eng., is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of B.C. and Alberta. Ray is president of CWA Engineers Inc., a consulting engineering company he founded in Vancouver in 1997. His company currently has 30 staff members and specializes in the design of sawmills, engineered wood plants, wood processing facilities, pulp mill fiber handling systems, and co-generation plants. Ray is a seasoned engineer and accomplished manager with 28 years experience in feasibility study, project scope definition and planning, conceptual design, capital budgeting, and project management. In his spare time, Ray enjoys traveling, photography, swimming, hiking, and skiing.

Julie Ho, BBA, CGA, is a Tax Specialist at KPMG. Julie immigrated to Vancouver in 1991 and has been actively volunteering her time in non-profit organizations since her move to Vancouver. Currently, Julie is a Director at the Sunbrite Business Association where she participates in organizing the Annual PNE Lunar New Year Festival, and other fund raising events. In addition to volunteering at Sunbrite Business Association, Julie has been volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) for over ten years. She is currently serving in the CCS's Chinese Program Services Committee as a Secretary and has been actively involved in CCS's fund raising, health fairs and other cancer awareness events. While volunteering at CCS, Julie served as an amateur hostess from 1993 to 1995 with Vancouver's Co-Op Radio station, CFRO FM 102.7, for a popular non-profit Chinese radio program, Morning Voice. During her two years at Morning Voice, Julie actively participated in organizing fund raising events and other promotional functions.

Grace Lee, is an internist from China. She obtained her master's degree in health science from UBC. Her work mainly focus on clinical research, which includes clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. She is currently working in QLT as an clinical safety associate.
